Mission & Goals
Founded in 2003, the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) is the leading European not-for-profit organisation addressing how the environment affects health in the European Union and beyond. HEAL’s 70+ member organisations include international and European organisations as well as national and local groups of health professionals, not-for-profit health insurers, patients, citizens, women, youth, and environmental experts, together representing over 200 million people across the 53 countries of the WHO European Region. With its members and partners, HEAL brings independent expertise and evidence from the health community to different decision-making processes. EU Green Deal, EU Strategic Agenda, Better Regulation, EU MFF, EU air quality policies (zero pollution, ambient air quality, NECD), EU chemicals policies (chemicals strategy for sustainability, endocrine disruptors, REACH, CLP, PFAS, pesticides, biocides, cosmetics), climate and energy policies (Paris Agreement implementation, EU Climate Law, Climate Adaptation Strategy) and Europe’s Beat Cancer Plan and Cardiovascular Health Plan.

This includes implementation of the EU Green Deal and its strategies, the MFF, as well as air quality, climate, pesticides, biocides, chemicals and cosmetics regulations.
