Mission & Goals
Our organisation is the official representative of The Economist Events for Greece, Cyprus, Malta and south-eastern Europe ans the exclusive licensee of The World in annual Economist publication for Greece and Cyprus. Our organisation’s primary goal is to promote informed dialogue and policy debate on key political, economic, and social issues that are relevant for Greece, Cyprus, Malta, South-East Europe and the wider European and international community. Through the organisation of high-level conferences and roundtables, we provide a neutral and respected platform for decision-makers, government representatives, business leaders, academics, and civil society to exchange views and explore solutions to shared challenges. Our remit includes fostering constructive discussions on topics such as economic growth, energy, sustainability, digital transformation, security, and international cooperation, with the ultimate aim of contributing to policy development and regional stability.
EU Legislative Interests
The main EU legislative proposals and policies targeted by our activities relate to the European Green Deal and energy transition, the EU’s digital and innovation agenda, economic governance and investment frameworks, policies on sustainability and climate change, as well as external relations and security with a particular focus on the EU’s Southern Neighbourhood and enlargement strategy. Our work also touches upon EU initiatives in the fields of health, education, and resilience.
Communication Activities
Our communication activities include the organisation of high-level international events, roundtables and summits in Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Southeast Europe, which bring together policymakers, EU officials, business leaders, academics and civil society representatives to discuss and exchange views on EU policies and legislative initiatives. These events are complemented by thematic publications, reports and digital content aimed at disseminating insights and fostering dialogue on EU priorities in areas such as economic development, energy transition, digital innovation, sustainability and external relations.
