Mission & Goals
The Quality Association PCM (‚Gütegemeinschaft PCM e.V.’) has two main objectives – promoting phase change materials (‘PCM’) and awarding the RAL Quality Mark PCM to high-quality PCM and products with PCM. PCM, or latent heat storage materials, use a physical effect to store large amounts of energy as heat or cold with nearly no loss and release them again later. PCM are used in many different areas, e. g. in logistics, medical applications or temperature management of buildings where they help maintaining cold chains, save energy, increase the use of renewable energy, or keep the ambient air temperature in a comfortable range. The RAL Quality Mark PCM is reserved for products that continuously comply with the tough voluntary requirements for stored energy, phase transition temperature and stability.
