Mission & Goals

The Green European Foundation (GEF) is a European political foundation, affiliated to the European Green Party, whose mission – as an organisation and as a network – is to: - contribute to stronger, more participative, and pluralist democracy in Europe; - act as a dynamic hub for ideas, debates, training and exchange that provides political education for European citizens and like-minded green actors; - bridge the gap between grassroots movements, civil society, academics, the private sector and political actors, from the European to the local level and vice versa. The Green European Foundation aims to develop and promote a Green vision of a more just, sustainable, social and democratic Europe.

EU Legislative Interests

The policy, research and knowledge exchange in GEF touches upon the following EU policy areas: - Gender - Eco-social transformation - Single Market - Circular Economy - Energy transition - MFF - Climate action - Social Housing - Digital and tech

Communication Activities

GEF communicates its work and the work of its network proactively through social media, newsletters and participation to other events. GEF regularly organises events on issues related to the above policies including knowledge communities, trainings, debates and other exchanges online and offline. All events can be consulted on GEF's website: https://gef.eu/all-events/ Our publications (https://gef.eu/publications/) , including our flagship Green European Journal (https://www.greeneuropeanjournal.eu/) are also available online and are a space for further discussion and communication. GEF doesn't engage in campaigning - including electoral campaigning - as foreseen by EU Regulation 1141/2014.
