Mission & Goals
The GRG is a group of companies that was formed to seek the renewal of the EU approval of the active substance glyphosate, which was re-approved on 28 November 2023. Member companies joined resources & efforts to prepare a single dossier with all the scientific studies & information on the safety of glyphosate. According to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU)No 844/2012, associations of producers can submit joint dossiers for the renewal of the approval of active substances. Establishing task forces for these registration purposes is a common practice across different sectors. The GRG is not a legal entity with no legal status or head office. The indicated address is the consultancy providing services falling under the register's scope. Following the re-approval, the main service is managing a dedicated website providing info on glyphosate & the approval process, access to studies & exchanges with regulatory authorities.
EU Legislative Interests
GRG was established for the purpose of seeking the renewal of the EU approval for the active substance glyphosate via the regulatory process foreseen under Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009. While other policies and legislation such as the Biodiversity Strategies are of relevance to GRG member companies and to the debate on glyphosate, the scope of the GRG activity is restricted to the EU regulatory process covering the assessment of glyphosate.
Communication Activities
The GRG operates a dedicated website (https://www.glyphosate.eu) that serves the following purposes: • Providing glyphosate-related information to interested persons, e.g., about the safety of glyphosate for humans and the environment, about its most important uses and about the authorization process for glyphosate in the European Union. • Offering access to scientific information that is the basis for the safety evaluation and approval of glyphosate in the EU in a transparent way, in particular access to the non-confidential part of the scientific dossier and study reports that have been compiled by the GRG to support the renewal of approval of glyphosate in the EU beyond 2022. • Providing copies of minutes of meetings between the GRG and the competent authorities and copies of correspondence between the GRG and the authorities. • Offering a get-in-touch-form for making contact with the GRG to e.g., request information and obtain feedback on questions and topics related to glyphosate. • Updates related to the renewal of the EU approval of the active substance glyphosate. • Publishing briefings, updates, and positions related to the renewal of the EU approval of the active substance glyphosate.

The expenditure by the GRG relevant to this Registry is due to consultancy and services contracts falling under the scope of the Transparency Register, in particular to the setup and maintenance of the GRG website. At present, the GRG does not engage in activities falling within the scope of the Transparency Register.
