GlobalConnect is one of the leading digital infrastructure and data communication providers in Northern Europe, having the largest interconnected fiber network of more than 235,000 km fiber. GlobalConnect wants to own infrastructure and utilize its vast network to its full potential and provide connectivity to EU households and companies.

Directive (EU) 2018/1972 establishing the European Electronic Communications Code; Commission Recommendation (EU) 2020/2245 on relevant product and service markets within the electronic communications sector susceptible to ex ante regulation.
Communication Activities
Joint bilateral meeting with the European Commission, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT), Unit B.3 (Markets, Competition and Roaming), together with the Swedish Local Fibre Alliance, scheduled for 20 May 2026, to discuss the implementation and application of EU electronic communications rules in relation to wholesale access markets (including Market 1/local access).
