Mission & Goals
The Global Steel Climate Council (GSCC) is a non-profit association organized to advance climate strategy by establishing standards and advocating for carbon emissions reductions by members of the steel industry. The GSCC Steel Climate Standard leads the way toward truly effective decarbonisation of the steel sector by implementing three core objectives: 1. A single, transparent, technology neutral framework for verified steel product certification and corporate-wide science-based emissions reduction targets that applies to all steel producers equally, fairly and universally. 2. Clear information to customers and stakeholders about the carbon emissions associated with the steel products they are purchasing and consuming. 3. An industry standard that will achieve the 2050 emissions reduction goals set by the Paris Agreement.
EU Legislative Interests
The Global Steel Climate Council (GSCC) is mainly interested in legislative and policy initiatives that cover the steel industry production and decarbonisation, including but not limited to Energy, Environment, Sustainability and Circular Economy initiatives.
