Mission & Goals

The Global Methane Hub (GMH), a fiscally-sponsored project of the Windward Fund, is a philanthropic organization dedicated to significantly reducing global methane emissions. Established following the Global Methane Pledge signed in 2021, GMH collaborates with governments, civil society, researchers, investors, and the private sector to implement strategies targeting rapid reductions in methane emissions across the energy, agriculture, and waste sectors. By funding and convening partners at international, national, and local levels, GMH aims to reduce methane emissions by 35% by 2030 and 50% by 2050, relative to 2010 levels. Their mission is to catalyze systemic changes through funding, convening, education, and advocacy, serving as a central hub for information on methane mitigation and promoting open data sharing.
