Mission & Goals
Previously known as the IECC (International Express Carriers Conference), the Global Express Association is a not-for-profit association incorporated under the laws of Switzerland and established in Geneva (Registre du Commerce de Genève IDE/UID CHE-101.848.157, Swiss Federal Nr CH-660.0.300.988-7). It represents the global policy interests of the three leading express delivery carriers: DHL, FedEx and UPS. As such, it interacts mainly with international organisations whose policies affect the members' business, viz. the World Trade Organisation, the International Civil Aviation Organisation, the World Customs Organisation, UNECE, UN-INCB, UNCTAD, the Universal Postal Union and the OECD. It also acts as a link between the express delivery industry's regional associations, including the European Express Association. Key priorities include: Trade Liberalisation Trade Facilitation Competition and Market Reform Transport and Environment Regulations Security Regulations
EU Legislative Interests
Reform of the Union Customs Code External trade relations of the Union, in particular as related to the World Trade Organisation Trade Facilitation, especially in relation to the WCO Revised Kyoto Convention and the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement Customs policy issues under the remit of the World Customs Organisation Aviation policy, as relates to initiatives before the International Civil Aviation Organisation, including: economic regulation (liberalisation), aviation security, including cyber security; facilitation, carriage of dangerous goods. Postal policy, especially in relation to the Universal Postal Union.
