Mission & Goals
GAN Global is a multi-sector alliance that focuses on convening and connecting businesses, governments, and international organisations to promote work-based learning (WBL). OUR VISION is a future in which all individuals and businesses have the skills and competencies needed to thrive and contribute to society. OUR MISSION is to drive action on WBL to achieve an inclusive and skilled workforce. We do this by advocating for WBL, including apprenticeships, and sharing industry best practices from our member companies. We implement projects on a global and local level through a multi-stakeholder approach involving both the private sector and policymakers.
EU Legislative Interests
"DECISION (EU) 2023/936 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 10 May 2023 on a European Year of Skills" - Submitted capacity building and awareness raising activities to the EAfA on 3 June 2023 to support this campaign "DECISION (EU) 2021/2316 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 22 December 2021 on a European Year of Youth (2022)" - Led the private sector youth council in preparation for the Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit in May 2023
Communication Activities
Various events, social media campaigns and publications launched around the need for skills and work-based learning opportunities offered for youth: https://www.gan-global.org/?page_id=643 Most of our work focuses on advancing ILO Recommendation 208 on Quality Apprenticeships and private sector engagement. Topics range from inclusivity, digital skilling and national qualifications with our GAN country networks in Türkiye, Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, USA, Australia, New Zealand, India, Armenia, and Namibia.
