Mission & Goals
Having created the only digital medicine donation network in Europe, GIVMED meets the needs of 50,000 beneficiaries per month, including the poor, children, women, the elderly, people with disabilities or mental health conditions, refugees, migrants and Roma who are socio-economically vulnerable. GIVMED has dispensed 1,309,268 boxes of medicines and hygiene products worth €11,984,240, thanks to synergies with 235 charitable organisations, 55 pharmaceutical and health product companies, 26 public health bodies and thousands of individuals. In addition, GIVMED: Raising public awareness on the issue of equitable access to and donation of medicines through campaigns and awareness-raising activities. Offers training opportunities in relation to the rights of access to health and medicine for socially vulnerable people such as children, and on medicine issues for health professionals, with specialised partners. EU Legislative Interests
GIVMED targets policies about access to medicine, such as the initiative "Pharmaceuticals – safe and affordable medicines ". Because of the COVID-19 crisis, access to affordable medicine is a big European issue and GIVMED has four years of experience which would be very useful. Since 2016, we work with people who don't have access to the medicines they need and we have the experience that EU needs in order to take into consideration all these people who belong to socially vulnerable groups.
