Mission & Goals
The Gemeinschaft zur Förderung von Pflanzeninnovation e.V. (German Federation for Plant Innovation) is a research association and has a long-lasting experience supporting research projects of German plant breeders especially SMEs. The GFPi was founded initially in 1908 as GFP and merged in 2015 with WPI e.V. to form the curretn GFPi. The GFPi has today 56 members representing plant breeding companies and service providers for plant breeding. The GFPi connects plant breeders and scientists from academia to initiate public-private-partnership and carry out collective research projects on a pre-competitive level.
