Mission & Goals

The Biomimetics Competence Network (BIOKON) was founded in 2001. BIOKON connects experts from academia, industry and research institutes with a focus on research and development in biomimetics. It is the aim of the network to integrate biomimetics in research and development, education, economy, policy and society, and to connect the participating stakeholders. According to this, interdisciplinary working groups were initiated. The professional works in these groups enable BIOKON to achieve its tasks. Essential task areas of BIOKON: •Main contact for information and project partners in biomimetics •Supervising and conducting research and development projects •Organization of events, fairs, and exhibitions •Organization and conducting carrying out continued learning and on-the-job-trainings •Competent counseling of industry and establishment of cooperation •Public Information about recent advance and product development in biomimetics
