Mission & Goals
Renasterea Foundation is a Romanian NGO - established in September 2001, holding the Public Utility Status by Government Decision in 2008. Its mission is to raise awareness about the importance of breast and cervical cancer early detection, providing free of charge access to screening, diagnosis and counseling for patients and their families. For the last 24 years, the Renasterea Foundation has accomplished a remarkable progress in informing Romanian women about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. More than that, the Foundation, with the generous support of its partners, has purchased and is operating two Mobile Units that provided over 40.000 free of charge medical investigations-Pap Smear Tests, mammograms, ultrasounds to women living in small cities and rural areas of the country, where the mortality rate is higher, because of late diagnosis. Most women are diagnosed in late stages, due to the lack of information and geo-financial barriers for early detection.
