Communication Activities

Fundația pentru Dezvoltarea Societății Civile (FDSC) ensures regular and structured communication on matters related to European policies, with a particular focus on civic space, civil society funding, and the role of NGOs in democratic governance at EU level. This communication is carried out through a combination of dedicated online platforms and social media channels, enabling both in-depth analysis and wide dissemination. FDSC’s institutional website, www.fdsc.ro, serves as one of the channels for publishing the organisation’s own positions, policy analyses, opinions, and contributions related to European policy developments. It also hosts information on FDSC’s direct involvement in EU-level debates and public consultations. Complementary to this, www.stiri.ong functions as a specialised information platform that provides regular updates on European policy initiatives, legislative proposals, and consultations relevant to civil society organisations, facilitating access to timely and contextualised information for the NGO sector in Romania. Content published on these platforms is further disseminated and amplified through the Facebook pages associated with both websites, as well as through FDSC’s Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. These channels are used to increase visibility of European policy topics, promote FDSC’s viewpoints, and engage a broad range of stakeholders, including civil society actors, policymakers, EU institutions and representatives, and European peers and networks. FDSC actively contributes to public consultations launched by the European Commission and other EU institutions, submitting evidence-based inputs grounded in research and field expertise (e.g. ECF Civic Watch Report, EC consultation in RoL report, on the EU Strategy for Civil Society etc). In addition, the organisation supports and promotes advocacy campaigns coordinated by European networks (FDSC is a member of the ECF-European Civic Forum) and contributes to alert mechanisms such as EWAS (civic space Early Warning and Alert System) , particularly on issues related to civic space protection, democratic values, and sustainable funding for civil society. FDSC’s policy positions and advocacy messages are informed by analytical work and research, including initiatives such as the research Romania 2024 – the Nongovernmental Sector- Profiles, Trends, Challenges, or regular monitoring and assessment which provide a solid evidence base on the state of civic space in Romania and contribute to substantiated engagement at European level.
