Mission & Goals

The National Youth Foundation (Fundația Națională pentru Tineret – FNT) is Romania’s national umbrella organization representing county-level youth foundations and supporting the development of youth work nationwide. FNT strengthens youth participation, non-formal education, and youth infrastructure through strategic projects, policy advocacy, and capacity building. It coordinates a national network of youth organizations, develops partnerships under the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, and contributes to implementing the EU Youth Strategy and the European Youth Work Agenda in Romania.

Communication Activities

Our organisation has been actively involved in communication and outreach initiatives aligned with the EU priorities on youth participation, education, social inclusion, and sustainability. These initiatives aim to foster young people’s engagement in policymaking processes and to translate EU-level objectives into local and regional actions. Key examples include: Events and consultations: organised to collect young people’s perspectives on EU priorities, including the EU Youth Dialogue, through which more than 1,200 young people have been consulted and actively involved by our coordination team. Campaigns and public awareness initiatives: for example, International Youth Day 2025, focused on informing young people about EU opportunities, civic participation, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). International cooperation projects: such as YODEC and Empowering Youth for a Stronger European Union, supporting structured dialogue with young people and fostering cross-border collaboration among young Europeans. All these activities contribute to disseminating information about EU policies in accessible formats for young people and to ensuring that their voices are represented in ongoing discussions at both European and local levels. Also, the registration is made in relation to the participation in the event “Shaping Europe Together: Youth Priorities for 2025–2029”, which will take place on 13 November 2025 in Brussels. The event is co-hosted in collaboration with Merck as part of the FutURe Project, an initiative aiming to amplify youth voices and integrate them into the European policymaking process.
