Mission & Goals
Równość.org.pl Foundation defines itself as an expert organisation that empowers LGBTQIA individuals by building leadership, agency, and public presence. Our mission is not only to defend human rights but to actively create conditions in which LGBTQIA people can thrive as citizens, leaders, and participants in public debate. We believe that long-term change requires more than resistance to discrimination — it demands building bridges. That’s why we focus on partnerships beyond the LGBTQIA movement: with civil society, public institutions, academia, and the private sector. Our strategy outlines key areas: public policy shaped by evidence; systemic LGBTQIA representation; a resilient movement with sustainable funding; strong LGBTQIA media and narratives.
EU Legislative Interests
We are dedicated to integrating the human rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals across all areas of policy. Our work places particular emphasis on anti-discrimination legislation, EU internal human rights and rule of law mechanisms, the EU LGBTIQ Strategy, employment and social inclusion, gender equality policies, hate crime and hate speech prevention, freedom of movement, asylum rights, data protection, and initiatives promoting non-discrimination in health and education. Our current priorities include advancing the horizontal anti-discrimination directive, establishing binding standards for equality bodies, promoting EU-wide minimum standards for addressing hate crimes and hate speech as outlined in Article 83 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), and ensuring mutual recognition of family relationships between Member States.
