Mission & Goals
CEE Digital Democracy Watch is a Warsaw-based NGO focused on the political content moderation and transparency. We champion responsible online discourse & advocating for a democratic future where regulation and free expression go hand in hand. We respond to the current struggle to find a middle ground between government regulations and the influence of major online platforms. This can result in issues on both ends of the spectrum, ranging from online abuse to over-censorship. Our goal is simple: we protect freedom of speech and advocate for digital policies that prioritise human rights. By doing so, we ensure that everyone can express themselves online without fear. One of our main areas of focus is connecting CEE actors to global and European conversations on tech policy.

Communication Activities
In our first months of activity we have successfully participated in DSA x elections consultation and Polish national DSA implementation process. We are the only CEE-based partner of Democratic Shield programme. Right before the European Parliament 2024 campaign we published a report on the main digital election integrity risks in CEE. Roundtables and consultations around the foundation's reports were hosted in Bucharest, Budapest, Prague, Vilnius, Warsaw and Brussels. Over the 2024-2025 we monitor the digital electoral spending in CEE member states, continue to educate on the issue and develop policy proposals for roll-out of TTPAR.
