Mission & Goals

The Foundation was established in 2008 to document, protect and promote the legacy of Professor Bronisław Geremek. Our vision is for Poland to be an open, democratic, rule of law abiding state actively engaged in transatlantic relations and with a strong place in a united Europe. We aspire to influence the socio-political reality in Poland and Europe. The Foundation promotes ideals of public life embodied by Prof. Geremek himself: • It fosters European values in Poland and is vigorously opposing the Eurosceptic, populist and xenophobic tendencies that have emerged in Poland and Europe in recent years, • It engages in actions related to spreading true and accurate information and knowledge concerning the European integration as well as to combatting disinformation, • It advocates at European level for proper response to rule of law breakdown in Poland, • It creates a space for action for engaged citizens and encourages civil society actors to cooperate.
