Mission & Goals
The Foundation Black Justice Poland (BJP) is a Black-led non-profit foundation based in Poland supporting Black, African and Afro-descendant individuals and communities. The organisation works to advance equality, anti-racism, social inclusion and human rights through direct support, education, community-building and advocacy activities. Foundation provides support in accessing housing, healthcare, legal aid and social services, while also developing educational programmes addressing anti-Black racism, discrimination and intersectionality. The foundation promotes the visibility, participation and leadership of Black communities in public life and engages with policies related to equality, migration, fundamental rights, gender equality and civil society development at national and European level.
EU Legislative Interests
Implementation and follow-up of the EU Anti-Racism Action Plan 2026–2030. Council Recommendation on equality, inclusion and participation of Roma and other racialised communities. Proposal for a Directive on combating violence against women and domestic violence. Implementation of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, particularly provisions related to non-discrimination, equality and human dignity. Implementation of the Temporary Protection Directive in relation to people displaced by the war in Ukraine, including access to rights and services for third-country nationals and racialised communities. European Commission initiatives concerning the protection of civic space and support for civil society organisations and human rights defenders within the European Union. European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan, particularly measures related to equal opportunities, social inclusion and access to essential services. EU policies and funding frameworks related to equality, rights and values, including the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV). European Commission policies and initiatives concerning hate speech, hate crime and racism, including the Framework Decision on combating certain forms and expressions of racism and xenophobia by means of criminal law. EU Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2030 and intersectional equality initiatives addressing discrimination affecting women, LGBTQ+ persons and racialised communities.
Communication Activities
Organisation of educational events, workshops and public discussions concerning anti-Black racism, equality, inclusion, migration and fundamental rights in the European Union. Participation in consultations, exchanges and meetings with civil society organisations, networks and public institutions concerning the implementation of EU anti-racism, equality and inclusion policies. Advocacy and awareness-raising activities related to the rights and inclusion of Black, African and Afro-descendant people, including people displaced by the war in Ukraine and communities affected by racial discrimination. Preparation and dissemination of educational and informational materials, social media campaigns and public statements addressing EU policies related to anti-discrimination, civic participation, gender equality and human rights. Cooperation with grassroots organisations, feminist movements, human rights organisations and equality networks active at national and European level to contribute to policy discussions and promote inclusive public policies and practices.
