Mission & Goals
RAIS Fundación (HOGAR SÍ henceforce) is a Spanish, state-level, independent, plural, non-profit organization created in 1998. Our mission is that no one lives on the street We implement a Rights-based approach. Homelessness is a human rights violation. Homeless is caused by a complex set of interrelated issues. There is a strong link with poverty, but a huge number of factors also intervene such as health, access to employment, housing situation, violence against women and other forms of gender inequality, or discrimination based on ethnic and racial origin HOGARA SÍ supports a housing-based approach, not an emergency one HOGAR SI also works and collaborates with other actors, both public and private, and helps build a model of shared leadership and governance to end homelessness Our activity is focused on Housing First and Housing for Autonomy; Housing for health recovery; Employment and Social Economy; Research and Evaluation; Communication and advocacy; International approach
EU Legislative Interests
Our main interests are linked to social policies, health and employment (including social economy), and financial mechanisms to improve the quality of life of homeless people. As we work with homeless people from a human rights approach, we have been involved in different consultations through FRA, such as giving data for hate speech and also the strategy of working with civil society. Another activity area where we are directly involved is in the ESF Transnational Cooperation Platform.
Communication Activities
We participate in all conferences we can relate to the EU policies mentioned above, and we also disseminate every new progress on policies and activities that can help our field of work: homelessness
