Mission & Goals
CTIC Technology Center is a private non-profit Research Organization, specialized in the research and development of emerging technologies. CTIC activity focuses on enabling technologies for digital transformation: Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Data Analytics; Immersive Technologies; Web of Things (WoT); Standardization and Open Data; and disruptive technologies like Blockchain, and Quantum Computing. The research on these technologies aims to promote the intelligent and innovative development of territories; improve business competitiveness through innovation and digital transformation (Industry 5.0); and contribute to improving people's quality of life. CTIC has a knowledge Unit specialized in Human Factor, which studies the relationship between technology and people and in which the ethical, social and economic derivatives of AI are given special attention. CTIC is the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Chapter for Spain and the Latin-American Spanish-speaking regions.

Communication Activities
CTIC participates in high level European events on behalf of its clients and itself. CTIC actively participates in the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. It is member of the Asturias Reference Site, contributing to the transfer of knowledge and in the development of common policies and strategies for health promotion and active ageing. In this sense, CTIC also coordinates to Action Groups: “C2-Development of interoperable independent living solutions, including guidelines for business models” and “C4-Innovation for Age-friendly buildings, cities & environments” of the Action Plan from the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIPonAHA).
