Mission & Goals
Small and medium-sized private Spanish shipyards Technical Centre Non profit Foundation. Founded in 2002, “LA FUNDACION CENTRO TECNOLOGICO SOERMAR (SOERMAR)” is a Spanish Ship Technical and Technological private Centre incorporated by 23 small and medium-sized Spanish private shipyards. SOERMAR is a SME which works for the incorporated shipyards; improving their competitiveness thought the promotion, development and participation in research projects; given them technical support in the development of new project design and innovative ships, and attending the technological needed of the shipbuilding related enterprises. SOERMAR is highly involved in research & innovations activities since its foundation in 2002, with important national research programs. Research has been developed with special attention to the needs of shipbuilders. We have participated in the definition of the R + D + i strategy for medium and small private shipyards. Work has been done to disseminate it and to try to develop R&D projects in collaboration with experts in the defined lines
