Mission & Goals
Established nearly 40 years ago, France Invest brings together venture capital, private equity, infrastructure and private debt teams based in France, as well as the associated professions which support them. Its membership currently counts roughly 440 management firms and 200 associate members. In 2024, French private equity and infrastructure players invested €37 billion in 2,800 companies and infrastructure projects. They raised €39 billion from investors, over half of which abroad, which will be invested over the next 5 years. In addition to that, in 2024, private debt players invested €13 billion in 317 transactions and raised €9 billion that will finance new transactions in the coming years. European start-ups and SMEs are the main recipients of our members’ investments. Over the 2018- 2023 period, over 530 000 jobs were created in companies they back.
EU Legislative Interests
France Invest is particularly interested in the development of the Capital Markets Union and the Savings and Investment Union, the AIFMD2 , the ELTIF2 Regulation as well as retail investment. Our members are concerned by sustainable finance regulation (SFDR, Taxonomy, CSRD, CS3D…) and taxation (DEBRA, Pillar2…). We also work on anti-money laundering and terrorist financing, State Aid Rules on Risk finance for SMEs as well as the review of the Solvency directive, and regulations on insolvency, cybersecurity (DORA) and data (ESAP).
