Mission & Goals
FESAC represents a focal point for European arms collector societies that have, as their main objective, the encouragement, guidance and proper regulation of their members’ interest in collecting, preserving and researching arms. The Foundation recognises private collectors’ significant contribution to the preservation and study of our common European heritage – hence its commitment to support their activity, which it considers to be complimentary to the obligations of the curators of existing national collections. After all, many great public collections owe their origin to accumulations by knowledgeable private collectors.

Additional Information
In response to 14. R15 and R17: FESAC operates on the strength of its board members, who are all volunteers from several EU Members States, Norway and Switzerland. Its official office in Malta is provided by its Maltese member organisation. However, internal meetings are held online and once a year the board meets in a different country and hosted by the representative organisation in that country. Costs are supported by the member organisations whose representatives attend such annual meetings. In the past year, there have not been any trips and associated expenses for the purposes of meetings with the EU institutions. This is expected to happen in 2026.
