Mission & Goals
The Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society (BFPE) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2003, with the aim of contributing to the continuous development of policies and practices of responsible society, with a focus on the development of leadership and citizen participation in democratic processes. The idea of establishing BFPE was conceived by Sonja Licht, the president and founder, during her participation at a conference at the Central European University in Budapest, where she met Elena Nemirovskaya, the founder of the Moscow School of Political Studies, back in 1992. It was during this encounter that the idea for the entire Network of Schools of Political Studies of the Council of Europe, of which we are also a part, was born. BFPE’s vision is a well-developed Serbia, based on democratic values and principles, with responsible social and political elites working for the benefit of all citizens. EU Legislative Interests
Participation in the hearing session of the special Democracy Shield Committee - providing relevant information for the members of the committee on the topic of the Western Balkans as a representative of the organization that works on local, national, and regional levels. Special focus of the organization is the topics of European integration of the Western Balkans region, regional cooperation, foreign policy, and the influence of the foreign actors. Providing relevant information on the developments in the region, ana advocating the EU's involvement in the national dynamics in Serbia in the spheres of politics, economy, energy. Providing relevant information on the presence of the third actors (China, Russia, US)
