Mission & Goals
The Romanian Judges' Forum Association was actively involved in preserving the rule of law in Romania against the political attacks in recent years. It all started in October 2017 with the Memorandum for the withdrawal of the project to amend the justice laws, signed in three daysby approximately 4,000 judges, prosecutors, assistant magistrates, judicial trainees. This was a true manifesto of the resistance of the judiciary in Romania. This public declaration of the independence of the judiciary was followed by the organization of silent protests carried out by thousands of Romanian judges, prosecutors and auditors of justice in front of the courts and prosecutor's offices in Romania, by dozens of other petitions appropriated by thousands of colleagues. This was coupled with an almost daily dialogue with the European Commission and other relevant European and international bodies, as well as the wave of referrals to the Court of Justice of the European Union with requests for prelimin
