Mission & Goals
The FSLCI is a multi-stakeholder and membership-based community organization for professionals working in business, science and policy organizations who are interested in and working with Life Cycle approaches to enhance the sustainability of economic activities. The FSLCI seeks to leverage the power of our community in promoting life cycle innovation as a path to foster sustainability. Its vision is a sustainable global society where Life Cycle Approaches are embraced and decision-makers have fully integrated and operationalized them in innovation and decision-making. The FSLCI'S mission is to empower the life cycle community and building life cycle literacy of relevant actors in society to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable world by promoting global, systematic, and effective application of Life Cycle Innovation.

Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation Green Claims Directive CBAM PEF / OEF
Communication Activities
In 2023 we organized an event that was focussed on the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, the Green Claims Directive as well as CBAM where we brought together various stakeholders to discuss the regulations with regards to the incorporation of life cycle related methodologies. In 2024 we organized our bi-annual Life Cycle Innovation Conference. Our main keynote speaker was Serenella Sala from the JRC and during the conference multiple EU regulations were discussed as part of workshops and barcamps, e.g. the PEF / OEF process. In 2025 we organized two Sustainability Insights workshops were representatives from European Commission provided insights into their current work and the role of life cycle approaches.

We do not promote any specific software or other commercial interest but rather seek to promote the uptake of life cycle based decision-making.
