Mission & Goals
Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli (FGF) is an independent cultural and research foundation based in Milan, Italy, committed to fostering democratic innovation, social justice, ecological transition, and citizen participation. In recent years, the Foundation has increasingly taken on a leading role within European projects, positioning itself as both a platform for public debate and a strategic partner in transnational research and civic experimentation. FGF’s participation in EU-funded projects draws on its unique ability to blend critical research, civic education, and public communication. It brings together researchers, cultural workers, civil society organisations, institutions, and citizens to reflect collectively on Europe’s most pressing challenges—from the climate crisis to social inequalities, from migration policies to democratic fatigue.
EU Legislative Interests
the final conference of our Horizon 2020 project PHOENIX explores the potential of deliberative and participatory practices to address the tensions surrounding the European Green Deal.
Communication Activities
For project PHOENIX FGF leads the communication and dissemination work, shaping the project’s identity, coordinating storytelling and digital communication, and organising public engagement formats in collaboration with local partners. At the same time, it contributes to the research on how green transitions are perceived—and sometimes resisted—in territories marked by socio-economic vulnerabilities.
