Mission & Goals
Finnish Water Utilities Association (FIWA) is the co-operation and member association of the Finnish water and wastewater utilities. Our main purpose is to facilitate an enabling operational environment for our member utilities and support their functions. FIWA works alongside policy makers in Finland and the EU.
EU Legislative Interests
Pieces of legislation and policies effecting the water sector, the most important ones being Water Framework Directive, Drinking Water Directive, Urban Waste Water Directive. FIWA is also interested in pieces of legislation and policies on sectors that have a potential impact on the water sector, such as energy, finance and economics, infrastructure, agriculture etc.
Communication Activities
FIWA works actively in EurEau - the co-operation association of the EU and ETA countries for Europe’s drinking water and waste water service operators.
