EU Legislative Interests

FinUnions follows all EU policies that are relevant to the interests of the members of our affiliated trade unions, and of employees more generally. Our particular focus is on social, labour and economic policies. FinUnions works on behalf of its member federations to ensure that the voice of workers in Finland is heard in European policy-making. We are focusing on the following EU proposals and EU policies: The revision of the European Works Council Directive EU sustainability Simplification Omnibus package (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) The Quality Jobs Roadmap and The Quality Jobs Act The EU Anti-poverty Strategy The European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan The EU public procurement reform Just Transition (European Green Deal, Just Transition Mechanism and Just Transition Fund)

Communication Activities

FinUnions publishes information on working life related EU policies and decision making on its website https://finunions.org/ and on its own social media accounts (Bluesky, X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube). Every month we publish a newsletter, which can also be found on our website. We publish our position papers on the website in Finnish and English. We also cooperate with various partners, such as the ETUC, in order to raise issues that are important to our members in form of solidarity campaigns. All published material is displayed on our website.
