Mission & Goals
FertigHy is developing a large-scale, low-carbon fertiliser production project in France and scale it around Europe, based on renewable and low carbon hydrogen and integrated industrial processes. The company’s objective is to contribute to the decarbonisation of the agricultural value chain and to strengthen European food security and industrial sovereignty. In this context, FertigHy engages with public authorities and stakeholders on policies related to industrial decarbonisation, including the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), hydrogen development frameworks and energy transition policies. The company aims to support the creation of a stable and predictable regulatory environment enabling the deployment of low-carbon fertilisers and sustainable industrial projects in Europe
EU Legislative Interests
FertigHy follows and engages on a range of EU legislative and policy initiatives related to industrial decarbonisation, energy transition and sustainable agriculture. Key areas of interest include: The EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and its evolution, including free allocation and carbon pricing signals for energy-intensive industries The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), including its implementation, scope extension and interaction with downstream sectors such as fertilisers and agriculture The EU Hydrogen Strategy and related instruments, including the European Hydrogen Bank and national support schemes for renewable and low-carbon hydrogen State aid frameworks, including the Climate, Environmental and Energy Aid Guidelines (CEEAG), and funding mechanisms such as the Innovation Fund Industrial and competitiveness policies under the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) and the Clean Industrial Deal Energy market design and access to affordable low-carbon electricity for industrial consumers FertigHy’s interest in these initiatives is linked to enabling the deployment of large-scale low-carbon fertiliser production in Europe.
