Mission & Goals
Ferroelectric Memory GmbH (FMC) is a leading semiconductor and memory chip company based in Dresden. It was founded in 2016 to develop a revolutionary technology for memory chips. FMC’s memory chips are based on hafnium oxide, a thin-film material. Based on this, the company has developed a new class of memory cells with the DRAM+ chip, which is more sustainable, faster, and more cost-effective. With its extremely low power consumption, the technology significantly reduces the energy demand of AI data centers, laying the foundation for their expansion in Europe. FMC is backed by international investors, automotive supplier Bosch, and Korean memory chip company SK Hynix. FMC's mission is to advance the research and development of a new class of memory cells (DRAM+) and to bring memory chip technology (DRAM) back to Europe.
