Mission & Goals
FEC aims to identify and address issues of shared concern among its members while advocating for their collective interests. FEC provides support for technical improvements and officially represents the common interests of its members within international authorities and particularly to the European institutions in Brussels and EDQM / CoE in Strasbourg. FEC provides fundamental support to its members on economic, technical and regulatory topics. FEC shares industry related research and development programs. FEC members have to agree with the FEC Code of Conduct (which includes respect of EU-anti-trust rules and EU-law).
EU Legislative Interests
Follow-up and representation of FEC members in European meetings concerning . EU "food contact materials" legislation and resolutions of the Council of Europe / EDQM related to the similar topics. The members of FEC are working with a very broad range of food contact materials: metals, ceramics, plastics, rubbers, silicones, organic and inorganic coatings, wood, paper, .... . Follow-up of EU REACH and CLP legislation . Follow-up of EU legislation concerning "made in Europe" . Innovation and "Factory of the future" (fourth industrial revolution) . Sustainability and Development legislation . CBAM/Green Claim/PPWR... . ECHA: RAC/SEAC
Communication Activities
FEC activities . Collect and Answer members' questions/requests. . Represent its member associations and member companies to the international authorities and particularly the European Institutions and EDQM / Council of Europe. . Participate in food contact material working groups at EU or EDQM/CoE level. . Participate in ECHA´s RAC SEAC Conferences. . Application for the CBAM Expert Groups of the European Commission, DG TAXUD . Organisation of an annual general assembly and yearly business days. . Have four times a year a Directors' Committee meeting in which take part the managing directors of each Association and direct members to consider current and future tasks, common projects and to attend professional interests protection. . Publication ofQuarterly Newsletter and frequent Newsflashes. . Website including a protected Members only area. . Updating of FEC (new) website content on regular basis. . Presence on social media platform: LinkedIn
