Mission & Goals

FIAPF Headquarters asbl' s mandate is to represent the economic, legal and regulatory interests which film and audiovisual producers across the globe have in common. FIAPF members are located in five continents, with a strong European presence. As an advocate for producers, FIAPF helps formulate policies and coordinate political action in these key areas, including: - Copyright and related intellectual property rights' legislation - Enforcement of IPR legislation - Deployment of digital technologies and their impact on the audiovisual value chain - Media regulation - Private and public sector film financing mechanisms.

EU Legislative Interests

- EU Digital Single Market legislation: Copyright Directive, Tv & Radio Programmes Directive, Portability Regulation, Geoblocking Regulation, AVMS Directive, Collective Rights Management Directive, AI and intellectual property, incl. in the context of the implementation of the EU AI Act - EU Media and Audiovisual Action Plan, including MEDIAInvest - AgoraEU and MFF - EU Enforcement of Intellectual Property: Enforcement Directive, e-commerce Directive - Digital Services Act, consumer protection, personal data protection - EU competition law framework/state aids regulation - EU Social Dialogue - Status of the artists and workers in the creative industries - Culture Compass

Communication Activities

Publication of "Achieving gender equality and promoting diversity in the European Audiovisual Sector : Good Practice Handbook" (May 2020 - jointly with several other trade organisations and unions). Publication of "Rebuilding Europe - The cultural and creative economy before and after the COVID-19 crisis" (EY study).
