Mission & Goals

FERVER informs its members of all relevant developments and promotes their activities to the wider public and to the European institutions and organizations. FERVER contributes to the transformation of our wasteful society into one of sustainable resource management. FERVER members focuses on the recyclability of all types of glass products (packaging and flat glass).

EU Legislative Interests

Active participation in the setting of criteria for the Regulation 1179/2012 on end of waste glass. Active follow up on the Delegated Acts implementing the Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) Active participation in the consultation for the revision of the End-of-life Vehicles Directive via a proposed ELV's Regulation Following with a particular attention the development of the circular economy in Europe. Active participation to open consultations on the Circular Economy Act and harmonisation of the classification of waste. Construction and demolition waste and recycling of flat glass Evaluation of DRS systems for glass packaging

Communication Activities

Organization of a seminar on glass recycling in Brussels on the 28th of November 2014 'FERVER, a success story in glass recycling' Organization of a seminar 'The key success factors for the recycling of glass from the construction industry' in Brussels on the 25th of November 2016 Founding member with FEVE of the PROJECT 'Close the Glass Loop' with the aim to collect for recycling in 2030 90% of the European packaging glass placed on the market. Partner of the project Sunrise (Horizon 2020) on the development of recycling solutions for the PVB-fraction of laminated glass Member of the advisory board of the PHOTORAMA project (2021-2024) which strives to improve recycling of Photovoltaic panels (PV) and recovery of Raw Materials. Co-organisation of a Sunrise workshop in Ecomondo on 5.11.24 regarding the recycling of PVB in laminated glass Redaction of Recyclability Guide for glass packaging Co-redaction of a Close the Glass Loop Roadmap and active participation to several 90 minute sessions of Close the Glass Loop.

Member Of

FERVER represents roughly 70% of the collection capacity of packaging glass in Europe. FERVER tells 41 members (companies & group companies) in 20 Countries, including 3 non-EU countries: Norway, Türkiye, United Kingdom, and one associated member in Brazil. The updated list is available on our website. FERVER is also a partner of Recycling Europe (Construction and demolition waste branch), founding member of Close the Glass Loop. FERVER also participates to the CETIE working group on design for recycling criteria.
