Mission & Goals
The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto undertakes activities in the realms of education, research, and innovation at international level. Accordingly, the results of these activities lead to the creation and transmission of knowledge, training of competent and ethical professionals, and future leaders in the area of engineering and similar areas, and also the promotion of wellbeing of our global society. FEUP's mission deals mainly with the areas of engineering, having as its main focus academic training, research, development and innovation activities closely connected with training of the second and principally the third cycle, and also the activities of the University's third mission, which include the transfer of knowledge and technology, the provision of services, continuous education, participation in discussion concerning national policies and involvement in the economic, cultural and social life of our region and country.
EU Legislative Interests
Main EU policies of interest lie in Horizon Europe funding programme (2021 – 2027) where FEUP is a partner in 23 funded projects (OPENZDM, PULSELiON, ADOreD, DIAMOND, AWARE, SINNOGENES, DocTalent4EU, AISym4Med, DiverSea, AptWind, Just Streets, DuneFront, RESURGENCE, REESOURCE, RETIME, Intelliwind, PhDs EU-Rail and TAILWIND-UP-HopOn, TOGETHER, Shift2SDV, iSTRIDE, SUSHEAS, NEREUS) and the coordinator of 7 projects (e.Biofilm, ERA-ARE, InBridge4EU, EU-DREAM, InnovAntiBiofilm, ZeroCarb and INNO-TREC).
Communication Activities
Under the European Commission (EC) supported programmes, such as Horizon Europe but also many others, FEUP has captivated considerable funding for many projects. The visibility of these projects is, and has been, capitalised via strong communication activities (especially via the designated websites of these projects).
