Mission & Goals
Exide Technologies is a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for automotive and industrial application. Exide operates 9 manufacturing facilities in 6 European countries and employs around 5,000 employees across the region. We manufacture batteries for light and commercial vehicles, as well as for agricultural and marine leisure applications. Industrial markets – under the division GNB Industrial Power – include efficient energy storage solutions for motive power applications such as lift trucks, cleaning machines and other commercial electrical vehicles, and for network power applications such as telecommunications systems, renewables, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Exide’s portfolio covers standard and advanced lead-based batteries as well as Lithium-Ion battery technology. Two R&D facilities in Europe enable the company to drive innovation. With three state-of-the art recycling plants, Exide is committed to environmental sustainability.
EU Legislative Interests
Support EU Green Deal and the related policy fields around energy storage and distribution, climate protection and circular economy. Being involved in the consultation on legislation such as Battery Regulation, End-of-Life Vehicle Directive, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, REACh, Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) legislation, industrie and competition issues.
