Mission & Goals
The goal of EBLT is to safeguard, protect and promote all minority languages spoken in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. At present EBLT represents the following language communities: Frisian, Bildts, Low Saxon (Nedersaksisch), Papiamentu and Limburgish. In order to do that EBLT also collaborates with minority language communities in other member states of the EU and their networks, such as NPLD, Elen and FUEN.

Communication Activities
Conference about the position of Low Saxon/Niederdeutsch in the EP on 28.9.2016. This probably will be repeated as soon as this is possible. Every year EBLT organizes activities in the framework of the European Day of Languages in September and in the framework of the Mothertongue Day of the United Nations in February EBLT was actively involved in the European Civil Initiative Minority SafePack Initiative and also in other activities and campaigns to develop, promote and protect minority languages at regional, national and European level. EBLT also organised a debate between three candidate MEP's on the eve of the European elections. One of them, mrs. Raquel Garcia Hermida van der Walle, was elected. EBLT also attends the annual Fryslândei/Frieslandday in Brussels. The last edition, on March 19, took place in the European Parliament.
