Mission & Goals

The European Youth Card Association (EYCA) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit association of 35 member organisations that issue the European Youth Card to over 9 million young people in 33 countries across Europe. In addition to providing the European Youth Card, EYCA and its members routinely organise a variety of initiatives to drive forward its two main ambitions: increase accessibility to youth mobility and enhance youth participation.

EU Legislative Interests

EYCA's main focus lies in developing the actions of its member organisations on the local, national and European levels and increasing the reach of the European Youth Card to young people. As such, a large part of EYCA's efforts has the purpose of maintaining and enhancing the inner working of the association. EYCA's actions on the European level mainly relate to the projects that it runs or engages with. EYCA's large grassroots base enables it to link European actions with young citizens, thereby providing a tool for the enhancement of European initiatives in the field of Youth. Outside the scope of project work, limited action is taken that targets EU policymaking and EU legislative proposals. However, EYCA does engage with EU officials on the following legislative processes: EU Youth Strategy, EU Youth Work Agenda and the Youth Guarantee.

This project is supported by a grant of the European Parliament.
