Mission & Goals
EUHA’s vision is to build a network of sustainable healthcare ecosystems in Europe which achieve the best possible quality of care with the resources available. To support this EUHA has formulated the following mission statements : - To promote excellence and innovation in healthcare, research and education, by comparing practices and patient outcomes, providing knowledge exchange opportunities for staff, and collaborating in research and development projects. - To emphasize the essential role of university hospitals within health systems by formulating and offering advice to policymakers and interacting with industry, patient organisations and other health care stakeholders. EUHA will act only and directly for non-profit purposes, and, thus, will not predominantly pursue economic goals. The funds of EUHA shall be used only for the purposes provided for in the present Articles of Association. The association has no political or religious orientation.
EU Legislative Interests
European Health Data Space AI Act Regulation (EU) 2017/745 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 April 2017 on medical devices (EU MDR) Regulation (EU) 2017/746 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 April 2017 on in vitro diagnostic medical devices (EU IVDR) Rethinking Healthcare Systems Volume 4 of "The rules governing medicinal products in the European Union": Commission Directives 91/356/EEC, as amended by Directive 2003/94/EC, and 91/412/EEC respectively. The EUHA aims to support the excellence of healthcare, research and teaching within Europe through collaboration including with the European Union. In this respect is focussing on a number of areas, including but not exhaustively the following: The European Reference Networks: we aim to support the strengthening and development of the ERNs and their integration within hospitals. Digital Transformation: The digital transformation is an important driver for healthcare development in the coming decade and as leading health care institutions our hospitals are interested to accelerate this transformation and support patient access to their data and responsible data exchange between health care providers, nationally and across borders. Erasmus+: The EUHA members collaborate to improve career development opportunities for our staff to go on work exchanges within other European countries.
