Mission & Goals
The European Spice Association (ESA) is the umbrella organisation of the European spice industry. ESA brings together the expertise of this wide group of people to promote the use of pure, safe and wholesome herbs and spices that are true to name and provide the quality and safety that is expected by the consumer.
EU Legislative Interests
Regulation (EC) No.396/2005 on the maximum residue levels (MRL) for pesticides; Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/915 on maximum levels for certain contaminants in food and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006; Regulation (EU) 2017/625 on official controls to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products; Farm to Fork Strategy; Food safety and food labelling policies and debates; Trade with Third Countries; Omnibus simplification packages.
