Mission & Goals
The European Spas Association was founded in 1995 in Brussels as an umbrella federation for the 1,400 medical spas in over 20 European countries, their research institutes, and medical universities where Medical Spa treatments are taught. We play a key role in all the #EuHealthUnion Priorities, and to include Balneology in EU policy, one of the oldest therapeutic disciplines, leverages natural healing resources such as mineral and thermal waters, peloids, and healing climates to address a wide range of health conditions. The evidence-based benefits of balneotherapy include improvements in musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular health, respiratory diseases, dermatological conditions, and mental well-being. Beyond its therapeutic value, medical spa treatments contribute to disease prevention and immune system strengthening, reinforcing a holistic approach to healthcare that prioritizes sustainability and natural interventions.

Communication Activities
We take part in events related to EU Health Union, DG SANTE, EU Health Tourism, DG Agri & DG Mare's Eu Rural Development Policy as our Medical Spas are gems in the Rural & Coastal Areas bringing and keeping (!) high level health experts-medical doctors & staff to the areas, EU Tourism transition pathway organised by the European Commission and the European Parliament. Participation 2025 in EU Health Summit, EU Digital Summit, EU Tourism Destination Summit, EU Animal Welfare meeting, EU Longevity Forum, New cooperation with EuroChild, European Patient Organization, Europe Region of World Physiotherapy
