Mission & Goals

As the leading force in European pathology, the European Society of Pathology (ESP) promotes high quality pathology diagnosis for all patients, up-to-date education across Europe and supports cutting-edge research to understand disease and translate science into clinical practice. The Society aims to foster collaboration among pathologists, improve patient diagnostics, and support health policy aligned with EU objectives. ESP represents professionals from academia, clinical laboratories, and research institutions. It actively contributes to EU healthcare and research policy by offering expertise in cancer diagnostics, laboratory medicine, digital pathology, and rare disease identification. ESP engages with EU institutions through: - Participation in scientific consultations and public health initiatives - Expert contributions to policy dialogues on diagnostics, cancer prevention, and education - Organisation of pan-European pathology congresses and training events
