Mission & Goals
The European Society for Prevention Research (EUSPR) is a scientific society which was established in order to promote evidence-based prevention to tackle determinants of non-communicable disease and ill-health, which is not paralleled by investment in human resources and education. Its mission is to promote the inclusion of science-based principles of prevention in policies addressing non-communicable health issues, such as obesity, psychoactive substance use, violence, crime, mental and sexual health. Science is the core value of EUSPR, and the society aims to make it useful for policy and practice.

Communication Activities
Position papers (https://euspr.org/activities/position-papers/) on the role of law enforcement officers (LEO) in prevention, on potential harmful approaches in substance use prevention, on the Icelandic Prevention Model. Key role in the implementation of the EUPC: https://www.euda.europa.eu/best-practice/european-prevention-curriculum-eupc_en for the the EUDA (Priority 5.4 of the EU Strategy on Drugs 2021-2025 and Action 30 of EU Action Plan). Annual conference, in 2024 attended by almost 300 prevention researchers and decision-, opinion- and policy makers (DOPs) from Europe and partner countries.
