Mission & Goals
ESWI is a partnership of twelve leading scientific experts from different disciplines working in close collaboration with organisations of public health officials, healthcare professionals, and high-risk groups. Our mission is to reduce the burden of major acute respiratory virus infections by fostering stakeholder communication and cross-disciplinary research in Europe. Enhancing public health protection against influenza and other viral diseases including RSV disease and COVID-19, is a goal that we as scientists clearly cannot achieve alone. We have established constructive working relations with many stakeholder organisations and created a network of supporters that work with the latest scientific insights to formulate and disseminate accurate public health messages. ESWI remains an independent organisation of socially-concerned members and partners and ESWI members do not receive monetary compensation for ESWI work.
