Mission & Goals

our mission : •to promote health and safety management and culture in the workplace and enhance health and safety awareness along the whole value chain from prevention to protection •to gain a hearing in legislation, implementation, market surveillance and standardisation mainly in the field of Personal Protective Equipment, taking into account sustainability. •to harmonise actions in the European countries by close cooperation between national and European level

EU Legislative Interests

- in detail : legislation on PPE, both product legislation (Regulation 2016/425) and use legislation (Directive 89/656) - more general : all legislation with an impact on PPE, such as legislation on Occupational Health and Safety / legislation related to internal market (market surveillance - public tenders - NLF - general product safety) / REACH / environmental / sustainability / healthcare / emergency preparedness (e.g. HERA)

Communication Activities

- implementation of PPE legislation (e.g. as member of the PPE expert group at DG GROW) - information material (e.g. Q&A on our website) and sessions/workshops for members on relevant legislation and its implementation and impact on PPE (e.g. sustainability legislation, REACH, ...) - (co-)organiser of webinars/seminars/conferences on PPE and related topics

ESF is a member of FAIB ESF is a partner of the EU-OSHA agency for their campaigns on occupational health and safety ESF is an active stakeholder in meetings of the EU commission (DG GROW - PPE Regulation / DG HERA - JICF) ESF is an active partner of the AdCo PPE group ESF is an active partner of the Coordination of the Notified Bodies in the field of PPE ESF is an accredited stakeholder organisation of ECHA ESF is active within CEN-CENELEC standardisation (e.g. Secretary General is chair of the CEN-CLC COG PPE and of CEN-CLC JTC 23) ESF works together with European organisations such as ETSA, EURATEX, CEFIC, ESIG, FESI, ANEC, BUSINESS EUROPE, EDANA, ... on specific issues ESF is also part of an informal cooperation between organisations of PPE suppliers outside Europe (e.g. USA and Brazil)
