Mission & Goals
EUMOS is a non-profit association and focusses on cargo transport safety, including packaging, storage, loading, cargo securing and other activities relevant to logistics safety. The goals of EUMOS include disseminating know-how related to cargo transport safety throughout Europe and to protect and to support common interests of associated experts. It stimulates the development of new know-how, standards and test methods related to cargo transport safety.
EU Legislative Interests
Relations with EU institutions related to road and logistics safety including lobbying. Current main initiatives followed include the Roadworthiness Directive, the Road Safety Initiative, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and Transport of Dangerous Goods. There is a general interest in transport safety, vehicle safety and packaging.
Communication Activities
Communication about the implementation of road safety standards and legislation as well as about packaging and logistics safety. Organisation of regular international conferences. Examination of knowledge regarding cargo securing and transport packaging according to EUMOS 40607.
