Mission & Goals
The association is registered under German law as an e.V.. The purpose of the association, which was founded 2023 in Brussels, is realized in particular by promoting the European idea within an international network of currently members from 8 European Countries. This network along the European coast is the base for a cooperation between places and regions with lighthouses as connecting element. The main objective of the association's activities is the preservation and promotion of lighthouses as maritime symbols and cultural assets. Furthermore is the alternative use of lighthouses an important building block for the dissemination of the cultural heritage and the preservation of regional identity and history of coastal regions. In addition, other lighthouses in the sense of art, culture and science as well as in the social sector and international youth activities can be included in the associations activities.
