Mission & Goals
The promotion of remanufacturing and refurbishment as an essential element of industrial policy that defends the EU Single Market. We aim to grow remanufacturing sales by organisations based in Europe to €100 billion by 2030 principally by ensuring a more competitive regulatory and fiscal framework for such economic activities.

Communication Activities
The ERC was established in January 2017 following the highly successful Horizon 2020 funded research project ERN (European Research Network) - the outputs from which are at www.remanufacturing.eu . We provide speakers to events and conferences in Brussels. Our annual meetings have been held in Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. Since November 2020 we have been members of the EU Circular Economy Stakeholders Platform. From February 2025 we are members of the EU Ecodesign Forum and have joined the Industry 5.0 group. We are members of the World Economic Forum Council for advanced manufacturing and supply chains. David Fitzsimons is an expert participant on the development of ISO 59000 for the Circular Economy and CEN TC 473 for Remanufacturing. We encourage members to participate in EU R&D programmes and assist in creating research teams of academics and industry partners.

Organisation Members
www.europeanreman.eu includes the terms and costs of membership as well as a list of current member organisations all of whom receive monthly updates. We have a much larger group of interested individuals and organsations who receive occasional updates. Our steering group meets 4 times a year for minuted meetings. The membership of the steering group changes annually and is available on the web site.

From April 2022, the activities of the European Remanufacturing Council were managed by a branch office in Belgium of Oakdene Hollins Ltd. Registration on Moniteur Belge from 1st April 2022 number 0783.400.803 In June 2024 this ended. The European Remanufacturing Council srl was registered in Belgium in September 2024. the first financial accounts will be available after 31st December 2025 and will be prepared by Gysen & Van Eycken srl
